What is this new IFSA forum actually?

The oldest and central idea of the IFSA is to bring forestry students from allover the world together.

A web forum is a virtual community. IFSA, as being the only global association of forestry students, can provide with a 24/7 platform for intercultural exchange and the improvement of education in forestry. This is what it is - nothing more, and nothing less.

You can do anything you want in such a forum. For example: 

• You can get to know a lot of forestry students and other people from allover the world - not only here, but also in real life!
• You can easily exchange opinions and experiences, improve your intercultural knowledge, and thus gain a more global perspective on forestry.
• You can give good hints on studies; you can ask for accomodation at your IFSA friends when you plan to travel somewhere. You can chat; you can make important or unimportant announcements and much more.
• You can put pictures and videos from the various meetings online in order to share them with friends. We can even make games like photo riddles or contests.
• You can also send private messages to certain registered users, or to a whole group of people.
• Finally, you can follow all relevant things that are going on within IFSA. You will better and faster understand what IFSA is, and who the people within the organisation are. Those, who are already involved in IFSA, will understand what is happening in the sections of the organisation that they are not involved in. You can just read what is happening - or actively bring in some inputs, whenever you have a good idea. After all, you also can just talk to those people within IFSA who care responsibility, like the Regional Representatives, the commissioners or even the president, which brings the whole organisation much closer together.

Maintaining the IFSA community

All in all, IFSA represents roughly 10.000 students world wide. And there are many others, who have never even heard of IFSA. This is the ONLY platform for all of us to meet.

No financial (money), legal (visa) or logistical (organising) limitations for participation like on the meetings.

Take the chance to maintain the spirit of the meetings.

Improving IFSA

More participation - more ideas - more inspiration - more mutual benefits. One big brainpool instead of many small ones.

Opportunities to understand IFSA and to arise more interest for the official positions and commissions.

More transparency - more democracy.
